Paint is the least expensive decision with the largest consequence. It is also the one most often made last, which is backwards.
Choose your fabrics, rugs, and stone first, then find the wall color that flatters them. Southern light is warm and generous, so cool grays tend to read flat here.
Live with large samples for a full week. A color that sings at noon can turn muddy by lamplight.
